There are a number of practical applications where materials are challenged well beyond more reference loading conditions used for their characterization, and this includes deformation processes occurring under high strain rates, pressures, large strain, elevated temperature and stress triaxiality.
Since numerical simulation is a key approach to understand and estimate components performance under these extreme conditions, the role of the modeling of material behavior and failure under non conventional loading and operative regime becomes critical.
This session is focused in addressing all issues (theoretical, computational and experimental) associated with the modeling of materials (metals, composite, energetic, etc.) under extreme conditions including:
- High pressure and shock compression
- High strain rates
- Very large strain
- Mutiaxial state of stress
- Very high temperature
- High velocity impact
